Abstract

Ayurveda harnesses the natural herbs' innate power to produce amazing effects on the human body. The herbs are entirely safe and natural for human use.  The literature examines the different medicinal plants that are employed as treatments for various illnesses. One of the plants is called Enicostemma axillare. Some local languages also refer to it as Mamajjaka, Nahi, etc. The bitter herb has laxative properties, aids in the treatment of fever, rheumatism, skin conditions, stomach issues, snake bites, obesity, and helps control blood sugar levels. Alkaloids, catechins, saponins, sterols, triterpinoids, phenolic acids, flavonoids, and xanthones are abundant in E. axillare. Minerals include iron, potassium, calcium, silica, phosphate, carbonate, sulfate, and chloride are also present. Antimicrobial, antioxidant, antiulcer, anti-inflammatory, hypolipidemic, hepatoprotective, and hypoglycemic qualities have all been linked to the plant components.
