Abstract

A simple, Accurate, precise method was developed for the simultaneous estimation of the Metformin(MFM) and Canagliflozoin (CGF) in pharmaceutical dosage form.Chromatogram was run through Kromosil 250 x 4.6 mm, 5m column. Mobile phase containingBuffer and Acetonitrile in the ratio of 65:35 with gradient method was pumped throughcolumn at a flow rate of 1ml/min. Buffer used in this method was OPA. Temperature wasmaintained at 30°C. Optimized wavelength was 220nm. Retention time of MFM and CGF werefound to be 2.424 min. and 3.730 min, %RSD of method precision for MFM and CGF were andfound to be 0.47, and 0.38% respectively. % recovery was obtained as 101.60% and 100.19%for MFM and CGF respectively. LOD, LOQ values are obtained from regression equations ofMFM and CGF were 0.005, 0.049 and 0.049, 0.150 respectively. Regression equation of MFMwas y = 21120x + 631.6 (R 2=0.999) and CGF was y = 9125x + 322.7 (R 2=0.999) foundedrespectively. The high percentage of recovery and low percentage coefficient of varianceconfirm the suitability of the method for routine estimation in pharmaceutical dosage form.
